Environmental Solutions Group provides crawl space inspections and recurring crawl space checkups performed by investigators who are certified IEPs (Indoor Environmental Professionals).

Up to 40% of the air in your home comes from your crawl space. If the crawl space isn't monitored, moisture and air quality issues can affect the entire home.

Water damage and mold growth often go unnoticed in crawl spaces. Contaminants can spread to the interior of the home, affecting the occupants' health, and causing damage that costs thousands of dollars to repair. Any crawl space issues should be investigated immediately, and preventative maintenance is always a good idea.

Our crawl space inspections include moisture measurements, a thorough visible inspection, and the taking of a sample for lab analysis.

A crawl space inspection consists of an investigator:

Exploring the entire underside of the house and documenting the conditions with photos
Collecting wood moisture measurements from joists and the sub-floor
Checking the vapor barrier for tears or gaps that could allow moisture to evaporate on the floor system
Noting any strong musty odor
Observing any debris that should be cleaned up, such as old pipes, insulation, or duct work lying on the floor
Collecting a surface sample for lab analysis to determine what type of mold, if any, is present

After the assessment, ESG will provide a report that includes a list of observations and recommendations.
