The most important thing you should know about ESG is this: we only test. We do not offer remediation services, and we never will. That single policy is the foundation of everything we do.

When a company both tests and fixes environmental problems, there is an inherent financial incentive to find problems, and to find bigger ones. That conflict of interest can compromise the objectivity of every report they write.

ESG is an independent third-party testing and consulting company and does not perform remediation. This separation helps reduce financial conflicts between evaluation and corrective work. Our job is to test accurately and report honestly, whether your results are clean or concerning.

Founded to fill a real gap in the Triad

When ESG was founded in Greensboro, NC, the Triad region had no shortage of companies that would come out to test your home or building, but nearly all of them also sold remediation services. True independence was rare.

ESG was built to fill that gap: a firm whose only product is accurate, defensible, science-based testing. Over 23+ years we've grown into one of the region's most trusted names in indoor environmental quality, serving residential and commercial clients across North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.
