What's included in your assessment

Performed by certified Indoor Environmental Professionals, our assessment goes far beyond basic mold testing to evaluate every factor affecting your home's health.

01

Full Visual Walkthrough

We evaluate the entire property, inside and out, for signs of water intrusion, ventilation issues, poor air circulation, building material concerns, and occupant lifestyle factors that may impact health.

Whole-Home
02

Moisture & Humidity Mapping

Using thermal cameras and moisture meters, we detect hidden water damage and assess areas prone to microbial growth or poor ventilation, problems invisible to the naked eye.

Infrared Imaging
03

Advanced Air Quality Testing

We monitor and document key indicators including CO₂, relative humidity, particulate matter (PM2.5 & PM10), volatile organic compounds, and airborne dust levels across your entire home.

Laboratory Analysis
04

Room-to-Room Comparison

We take environmental readings from different areas of the home to identify problem zones and ensure the whole home is evaluated, not just one room or the area you're concerned about.

Zone Analysis
05

Targeted Mold & Allergen Sampling

If visible signs or environmental indicators suggest mold or allergen hotspots, we collect surface or air samples and send them to an accredited lab for identification and analysis.

If Needed
06

Occupant Health Risk Review

We take time to understand how the space is used, who lives there, and whether certain occupants (children, elderly, immunocompromised) may be at higher risk from environmental triggers.

Personalized

Advanced indoor air quality metrics

We test for the pollutants and environmental conditions that scientific research has linked to respiratory illness, allergic reactions, and chronic health problems.

CO₂

Carbon Dioxide

Measures ventilation efficiency and fresh air exchange rates

RH%

Relative Humidity

Identifies moisture conditions that fuel mold and microbial growth

PM 2.5

Volatile Organics

Chemical gases from paints, cleaners, furnishings, and building materials

Common questions about healthy home assessments

Mold testing focuses on one issue: whether mold is present and what species it is. A Healthy Home Assessment is far more comprehensive. We evaluate your entire indoor environment including air quality, moisture levels, ventilation, VOCs, particulate matter, and occupant risk factors. Mold sampling may be part of the assessment if indicators suggest it, but we look at the full picture of your home's environmental health.

Most assessments take between 2 and 4 hours depending on the size of the home and the scope of concerns. Larger homes or properties with significant water damage history may require more time. We never rush. The goal is to thoroughly evaluate every area that could be contributing to indoor environmental problems.

We use professional-grade instruments including thermal imaging cameras, calibrated moisture meters, real-time air quality monitors for CO₂, particulate matter, VOCs, and humidity, as well as laboratory-grade air and surface sampling cassettes when mold or allergen testing is needed. All samples are sent to accredited third-party laboratories.

No, and that's by design. ESG is strictly a testing and consulting firm. We do not perform remediation, which means our findings and recommendations are completely unbiased. We have no financial incentive to find problems or recommend unnecessary work. If remediation is needed, we'll guide you on what to look for in a qualified contractor.

ESG is based in Greensboro, NC and serves clients throughout North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. We primarily serve the Piedmont Triad including Winston-Salem, High Point, Burlington, and surrounding communities, but regularly travel for projects across all three states.

In most cases, we can schedule your assessment within a few business days. For urgent situations (active water damage, health concerns, or real estate transactions on a timeline), we do our best to accommodate priority scheduling. Call us directly at 336-373-1538 for the fastest response.
